Chris Herries

Chris is an experienced community campaigner having been involved with local community groups in most areas where she has lived since qualifying as a teacher.

Born and brought up in rural Norfolk she taught and then worked for Oxfam in several parts of England before returning to live in the Norwich.

She is delighted to have been elected to the City Council as a Labour/Co-operative Councillor representing Lakenham Ward and is looking forward to continuing to work with local people and fellow Councillors in the ward to ensure it is a terrific part of the City in which to live.

Chris, until recently, chaired Cooperatives UK (the trade body for all cooperatives) and is still very involved in the Co-operative Movement - she is currently vice-chair of the national Co-operative Party. As well as representing Lakenham she is looking forward to promoting Co-operation in all its forms throughout the City!
