Norwich North - meeting to consult on All Women Shortlist

Norwich North members are invited to a meeting to consult on an All Women Shortlist, on Friday 1 September, starting at 7.30pm, at St Cuthberts Church Hall, Wroxham Road NR7 8TZ.

The Labour Party National Executive Committee has agreed that the possibility of a second snap election makes it imperative to select candidates in the most marginal UK parliament seats in England. This includes Norwich North. To start the process, the NEC is consulting with the relevant constituencies on All Women Shortlists (AWS), deadline for feedback 4 September.

Please note that CLPs’ consultation feedback will be just one of the factors that affect the NEC’s decision, and the final ruling may be contrary to a CLP’s consultation findings.

Consultation can be via either a meeting or a member survey, and can be restricted to the Executive Committee or extended to the wider membership. This was discussed at EC on 1 August, and it was decided to hold a meeting of Norwich North members to consult on the issue.
