Thorpe Road 20mph survey
Thorpe Road 20-mph LimitThe County Council are proposing to introduce a contra-flow system on Thorpe Road which will allow buses and cycles to take a more direct route into the city rather than follow the one-way system along Carrow Road and Clarence Road. A number of residents who live on Thorpe Road would like to see a 20-mph limit within the new contra-flow system which would be continued along Thorpe Road as far as the junction with Salisbury Road. They already feel that the current 30-mph limit along this part of Thorpe Road is regularly ignored by many drivers and the speed of traffic is particularly dangerous where cars are parked.
Please note that the County Council are in the process of carrying out their own consultation regarding the proposed changes. As residents of the Thorpe Road area, we want to make sure that consideration of the wider area is taken into account not just the stretch of road where the changes are proposed. Findings of this survey will be collated and presented to the County Council Cabinet in due course. Individuals will not be identified in any reports that may result from this survey.
