After Easter, Norwich Labour candidates and councillors launched their manifesto at Hansard Close, the site of brand new, state of the art environmentally friendly ‘Passivhaus’ council homes, built by the Labour run City Council.
Launching Norwich Labour’s City Council manifesto Cllr Alan Waters said “our manifesto builds on a track record of investment and practical improvements across the city and for every community in Norwich. It includes building much needed homes; successfully bidding for millions of £s for regeneration that will create new jobs, training opportunities, homes and businesses. Tackling inequality through campaigning for the Living Wage and an end to low pay and job insecurity; comprehensive advice services, ensuring people get the help they need and expanding support to local community networks.
There is a clear choice between a Labour Council that invests in the city, its residents and communities and a Tory Party that has spent eight years cutting vital services, including deep cuts in council budgets, running down the economy and damaging living standards”.
