· St Marks Church Hall NR1 3HL
We look forward to seeing members there.
Agenda items:
a) Discussion topic – What Trade Unions want from a Labour Government and the role of modern Trade Unions in relation to the party
This is a critical time for workers’ protection. Hard-won rights fought for by Trade Unions are under threat. In the words of Jeremy Corbyn, Trade Unions “are the roots and the lifeblood of our party” and “the trade union movement represents the best of Britain”. Our TULOs Glenn Springett and Chrissie Rumsby will be leading a talk on “What Trade Unions would want from a Labour Government and the role of modern Trade Unions in relation to the Party”. Chrissie will be discussing Holiday Hunger and we have speakers from affiliated Unions Unison and Unite, as well as the Norwich and District Trades Council, debating a diverse range of topics.
b) Regional conference (early 2020) – selecting the CLP delegate for Norwich South
Norwich South: two applications were received by the extended deadline (Friday 4 October), and Norwich South members will be voting at AMM to select one delegate.
- Abby Hoffmann
- Joe Williams
Norwich North: one application was received by the original deadline (24 September) – Claire Lees (Sprowston & Old Catton branch). Claire is standing for the Equalities – Women position on Regional EC, and was nominated by both Norwich North and Norwich South at AMM on 13 September.
All members of the Labour Party in the East of England are eligible to attend the event – those not selected as a delegate, or ex officio, can attend as a visitor.
c) Motion from Mancroft BLP – conduct of members
d) CLP business – officer reports etc
e) Update from Clive Lewis MP with Q&A
