Today, on #EarthDay, we recommit to leading on the environment and building a sustainable future for Norwich.
Tackling the climate emergency will underpin everything we do.
Norwich Labour will continue investing in our award-winning parks and green spaces; boost recycling, promote energy efficiency and commit to a radical transport plan including a Clean Air Zone in the city centre; introduce electric vehicle charging points.
So far, Labour-led Norwich City Council has:
- Won at the Global Good Awards 2020 in the ‘Climate Action of the Year’ category
- Been recognised as one of the top-performing councils in the country by Friends of the Earth for its response to the climate emergency
- Won the internationally-renowned Stirling Prize for architecture for its eco-friendly Goldsmith Street development
We will continue to put pressure on the government to give councils the funding and resources they need to be even more ambitious at tackling the climate emergency.
Vote Labour on May 6th so we can carry on striving for Norwich to be a sustainable, low carbon city that can be enjoyed by generations to come.
