Clive Lewis MP, Cllr Chris Smith and the local Labour team joined residents for a litter pick across Town Close Ward this morning. Dozens of bags of rubbish were collected after volunteers cleaned up local parks, streets and housing estates. Thank you to everyone who took part!
The litter-pick was carried out using kits borrowed from Norwich City Council. Anyone can book this equipment for free using the council’s LUMi digital sharing platform. This website aims to increase community engagement and promote a circular, sharing economy.
The council also hosts an online #LoveNorwich hub, which contains resources and advice for residents and groups looking to play their part to keep our city clean. This includes how to report fly-tipping, how to dispose of bulky waste, advice on hosting a litter-pick, opportunities to access grant funding to improve your local area and how to reuse or recycle unwanted items.
