PETITION – DEMOLITION OF VICTORIA HOUSE (‘MARSH’ BUILDING)

Town Close residents and Councillors are frustrated that the owners and developers of Victoria House have failed to engage with them about their plan to demolish the building and re-develop the site

We call on owners, Norwich Victoria Ltd, and agent, Lanpro, to urgently engage with the local community about their plans and demand:

  • Protection of all trees and hedgerows on the site
  • Protection of existing green space with community access guaranteed
  • Close liaison with nearby householders before and during any demolition phase
  • A series of engagement meetings with local residents to discuss plans, commencing no later than July 2023
  • A commitment to work with local residents to refine any plans for the site
  • A commitment that any new build will not exceed the height of current building and is appropriately stepped away on the boundaries without overshadowing or unacceptable massing
  • A commitment to share information with residents about any contamination on the site
  • That the design is appropriately integrated with the current residential architecture
